I sat at the little table in my small apartment, counting out the tips I'd received from the night's work. It was probably five in the morning. I'd been working the night shifts at the same bar for a couple years now. Most people didn't leave tips, but when they did, I got to keep them. I counted out fifteen dollars and thirty-five cents. The sound of a soft voice against my neck immediately caught my attention. Gerard's eyes fluttered open as my name fell from his lips.
